Business Analyst

ROLE PURPOSE

The Business Analyst will support the delivery of an implementation to replace legacy Finance systems with a new platform, including the migration of historic data and integrations with existing and new applications.

The Business Analyst will need to understand the related business change needs, assess the impact of those changes, capture, analyse and document requirements, processes and support the communication and delivery of those new requirements with relevant parties throughout the project lifecycle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Operates across all areas of the business and at all levels of the business
  • Facilitates and supports information gathering workshops
  • Documents business needs including business processes and requirements
  • Defining the benefits of the project and baselining related processes
  • Supports system and process changes by creating and maintaining design documentation
  • Works with business users to identify, analyse, evaluate and problem solve existing operational issues
  • Supports the business in defining (and where appropriate executing) test plans including creating test scenarios
  • Understands and contributes to project plans and implements agreed actions in a timely manner
  • Adheres to the agreed project methodology and provides feedback where appropriate
  • Proactively provides project support to the project manager and project teams
  • Assists business users in implementation and embedding of change
  • Work closely with suppliers through the duration of the project

ESSENTIAL ROLE SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Experienced in supporting and implementing Finance systems
  • Experience of integrating Finance packages with other strategic solutions including CRM and eCommerce platforms
  • Strong business process mapping (Visio) and analysis experience
  • Experienced in understanding, documenting and prioritising business requirements
  • Experienced in working on multiple projects concurrently, whilst keeping to agreed timeframes
  • Experienced in capturing benefits of project and conducting benefits realisation
  • Flexibility to be able to work in an environment of continuous change (including priority changes)
  • Knowledge of SQL databases
  • Understanding of project management methodologies
  • Strong problem solving skills (including root cause analysis)
  • Ability to understand and operate with both technology and business users
  • Ability to motivate others and drive change
  • Ability to articulate (present) to user groups
  • Confident in building and maintaining effective relationships with 3rd party suppliers
  • Demonstrate a logical, analytical and inquisitive nature
