Huntswood’s Third Annual Dinner – 12th March 2008

The Huntswood Annual Dinner 2008 will be held at The Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall, London on March 12th. Lord George is the guest speaker for 2008, whose distinguished financial career culminated with two five year terms of office as Governor of the Bank of England.
During Lord George’s governorship and under Gordon Brown’s Chancellorship, the Bank was granted independence in setting UK interest rates. Since leaving this post Lord George’s comment and guidance have been much sought by industry decision makers in matters relating to current and future economic trends.
Previous speakers have been; in 2005 Sir Callum McCarthy, Chairman of the F.S.A., who spoke on the subject of “Compliance: Regulatory Chore or Competitive Weapon” and in 2006 Lord Stevens, former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, who spoke on the topical industry issue of “Serious Organised Crime: The Threat to UK Business”.
