Career to date
After gaining a First in Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, I joined a Professional Services company in a Systems Engineering role, from there I progressed into Business Analysis and Project Management. During that time I worked on local and global programmes in numerous sectors including: Manufacturing, Financial Services and the Public Sector.
Why did you join Huntswood?
I wanted to consult with a smaller niche organisation to continue to develop specialist skills in Lean and Six-Sigma. I particularly wanted to focus on the Financial Services sector. My previous company employed 150,000 staff, so it was liberating to work without the bureaucracy and inertia of a typical global organisation. Part of the attraction was to be involved in business development activities. Since I joined Huntswood the company has grown rapidly, but has managed to keep the fresh, entrepreneurial spirit.
What have you been working on recently?
I've worked on a variety of client facing projects:
Performed a review of a complaints handling processes and, using Lean & Six Sigma techniques, coached the client’s team to achieve a reduction of operating costs by 30%, rework reduction by 60%, and exceeded the business’s Service Level Agreements.
Led a due diligence exercise of an offshore BPO in Bangalore, India; which was used to confirm the client’s Off-Shore strategy.
Baselined the sales and underwriting process for a new entrant in the secured personal loans market. The baseline highlighted the regulatory control points, and enabled the client to ensure predictable and repeatable processes. This was of particular use when training their new staff.
What keeps you at Huntswood?
For me, the real satisfaction is working on engagements where Huntswood makes a measurable difference for the client and the client’s customers. Huntswood employs seasoned Consultants with diverse backgrounds, who bring a wealth of experience with them. Working closely with our three practices, there’s always something new to learn and there’s always someone on hand to bounce ideas off.
