Career to date
Engineering apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce; 17 years in RAF – mainly in Learning and Development and Change Management roles; and a year at an HR consultancy.
Why did you join Huntswood?
Many reasons - the formidable list of clients, which offers tremendous opportunities; the calibre of staff was another major draw, and finally, the company’s performance hugely impressed me and I wanted to contribute to that.
What have you been working on recently?
I’ve been working with a FTSE100 financial services firm on shaping their culture to meet their vision; have worked with a global manufacturing firm in developing effective behaviours in a high-profile project team; and have identified and developed learning management solutions for a Defence manufacturer. Winning new business is also a key and exciting part of the role here and I have learnt a huge amount from Huntswood’s approach to business development and the extensive experience of people here.
How does your diversity of experience help you perform in your current role?
My background is very different from the majority of consultants here but that difference is valued, especially when solving problems. Also as my role here centres on people and change, it fits well with my experience of ‘being there’ leading teams through large-scale projects in the RAF.
What keeps you at Huntswood?
It’s a great place with many very talented people and if you need expert advice, it’s right on-tap. There’s also a lot of working across boundaries, so you naturally get exposed to other disciplines.
